The De-Casting

Emily was let out of her cast yesterday, 10/22/07. She did such a good job. We had plenty of stress surrounding that day, but God came through as He promises and protected us and blessed us. It was a bit of a scary experience for her, but she was brave. Also, on the way home she had this to say, "So, this is how you climb a tree. First you find the holes for your feet, then you find the handles for your hands." Wow! Not even two hours out of her cast and she is planning her next climb. Since then, she is all talk, she's been very timid. She does not want to use her left arm, she is afraid she will hurt it. However, if she doesn't use it, she will be in another kind of situation - physical therapy. I am sure she will do just fine.

Here are some pictures from our experience:
Really, I did debate putting this one on, but this is "the saw" that she endured, such a big girl! After that, the nurse used scissors, which was much better according to Emily.

You're right that it's upsetting to see her, but she is so adorable in the first picture with her sweet little smile - post cast removal. :)
